Ingredients:
- 1 oz grapefruit juice
- ½ oz maple syrup
- 1½ oz Smith & Cross
- 2 dashes Peychauds bitters
Glassware: Chilled coupe

Method
Combine all ingredients in a shaker with crushed ice and shake. Double strain into a chilled coupe.

The bitters combined with the grapefruit created a bright red libation. Aroma of maple, citrus and funky rum. The sip melds a sweet liquoricy molasses candy with a pop of fennel/celery from the bitters. Once acclimatized the layers of overripe tropical fruits, toffee, vibrant tart grapefruit, maple wood and sap are detectable.
